When I use to eat and eat, I would get so frustrated with myself. I would wonder why I was doing this to myself. I just couldn't stop what I was doing, I was out of control. I needed help because Ruthie has tried it on her own and failed numerous times. I said numerous!

I think about those one dollar hamburgers at McDonalds. I couldn't stop at just one because they were only a dollar! I could afford more than one!
I think about the candy bars at Dollar General, 3 for a dollar. I can get more than one! Alright!

You see the marketing has alot to do with us if you have an overeating problem. I think they know what you will do!

If you have support, get a strong mindset, write everything down, eat healthy you can do this. When there are oranges 3 for a dollar that would have been a better choice!

I have no desire to eat those burgers or candy bars anymore. I just turn those bars around at the checkout and look at the calories and fat that are in them. I also keep this is mind that once I start eating them, I might not be able to stop. I also picture how I use to look with the 300 pounds hanging on my body.

You can do this to, loose weight!

God will help you in this weight journey!

GOD IS WATCHING.....US
Everyone has seasons when they feel overwhelmed by the busyness of life. In fact, one of the tricks of the enemy is to get you so caught up in the everyday "hustle and bustle" so that he can distract you and make you feel disconnected from the Father. But no matter how overwhelmed you may feel, you can find rest in knowing that the eyes of the Lord are upon you. He sees everything you are going through and everything you are facing. He knows where you are right now, and He knows how to get you to where you need to go. He knows what you need, and He knows how to provide for you.
All He asks is that you stay in faith and obey His Word. The Psalmist said, "I have been young and I have been old, but I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread." Remember, God is faithful! He's keeping watch over you. He's keeping watch over your family. He's keeping watch over His Word to bring it to pass in your life! Stand strong today knowing that you serve the God who sees and makes a way for you!
When it comes to your weight journey He will help you every step of the way!

By Being Obese

When I was obese I remember all the times I couldn't be a apart of my children fun and games because I was too large to participate. Running was out of the question and so was the softball. Even though I wanted to I was on the sidelines.

Today it is different. Too late to play with my kids but not the grand children! My grandkids love this new active granny. My 11 year grand daughter said I was like a teenager. Awesome!

No matter where you are in life ageing process, it is not too late to go forth and play. By loosing the weight you are getting healthier and possibly avoiding some of the cancers that go along with obesity.

It is your choice how you want to live the rest of your life. Sitting on the sofa or playing outside.

I use to eat non stop!!!!

I use to literally eat non stop. Once I tasted something good that was it. I think my stomach was as deep as the Grand Canyon.

I feel I could still do that today but the difference is now, I have self control and I just won't do that to my body. Your mindset plays a major role in weight loss.

I remember there were hardly any leftovers for the dogs. We fed our dogs table scrapes and dog food. Those poor dogs missed out on the left over biscuits, fried potatoes, and gravy and so on. I would stand there and lay the extra food on the stove and take bites while I was doing dishes. So I guess I was eating DOG FOOD! I had so many extremely bad habits but as you can see they can be conquered.

One of my keys to staying under control is the accountability. I belong to Weight Watchers support group and it is my main stayed.
Also when I started this journey I made sure everyone knew what I was doing. I wanted them to hold me accountable every time they saw me.

You can loose weight and you can conquer the habits.

God bless you,
Ruthie

Diet Devotional

1 John 5:4
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

The greatest enemy we face as we diet is not food, or the gnawing hunger we endure. No, the greatest enemy we face is the lack of faith we have in ourselves. When the going gets tough, our tendency is to throw up our hands in surrender. That cannot be allowed to happen. As faithful people, we are tied to a special power that comes from beyond us. We are recipients of the holy power of God. That same
power raised Christ from the dead and enabled Him to overcome every temptation that this world could throw at Him. With that kind of power, how can we fail at anything we do?

Today's thought: To diet means to do it!

What I use to do with food!

I would eat and eat and the only time I would stop was because I had to go to bed. I bet some of you find this hard to believe! It is true though; everyday it seemed like a contest to see how much I could stuff myself. I think I broke my old records constantly, almost daily.
Everything I did was an occasion to eat. If I was reading, watching TV, driving, on the computer. OK Ruthie, you are doing something new, lets eat! Talk about a habit! I was so bad! If food wasn't so high priced now I could tell you if we are saving money by me not eating my fill all the time.
So you are wondering how did I quit? Will power, mindset, writing down everything I ate, joined a support group, eat more filling foods, load up on the fiber foods, drink water, and tell everyone that I was loosing weight so I had lots of people wondering if I was going to do it!
I also took a hard look at myself. Is this the way or size, I want to be the rest of my life? I was already slowing down. I picture myself weighing 400 pounds and laying on the sofa, too big to do much and my aging body falling and breaking down because of the weight. You have to face reality! This was the future me!You can loose weight.
I am a stay at home person and I am around food 24/7 and I am doing it and still going for over 2 years.
I am here for you all and I know where there is a will, there is a way to reach your goals.
In Jesus,
Ruthie
